Activating the virtual experience at the Our Gathering conference
We were honoured to attend the Our Gathering, kexwkexwntsút chet, tə sq̓əq̓ip ct, conference in April to share the Indigenous Sport Gallery located at the BC Sports Hall of Fame, as well as the new fully immersive Digital Indigenous Sport Gallery with over 600 delegates from Indigenous nations across the province.
We brought a couple of virtual reality headsets for attendees to experience the virtual tour, and offered free admission to the physical gallery for delegates for the duration of the conference. It was amazing to be able to share the incredible honoured member athletes stories and increase awareness of how our Hero in You program can support schools across the province.
This annual event is designed to facilitate collaboration and learning between First Nation communities, Indigenous organizations and government officials. Thank you to our partners at Canadian Heritage and Indigenous Services Canada for the opportunity.
